It was a fantastic day to end the touch module, we had beautiful sunshine as well some players who have really come along with their touch talent. The aroma of competition was in the air with teams trying their hardest to win their age group but it was a tough battle for all.
Although it was a fun day there was an element of sadness due to it being the last touch module which Klaudz will be running for us.
Klaudz has been with the Y for over 10 years and has run the Touch Module for eight seasons!. We would like to take this opportunity to say a big Thank you to Klaudz for all the help, dedication and spirit she has brought to the Y, you will be missed!
If you’re interested in entering a touch team for the next module please get in contact Sophie on yforce@ymcatauranga.org.nz for more info.
For now, get out on the field and get practicing...
Each year the YMCA Tauranga hosts a Junior Touch Rugby module. Up to 45 teams from around the region play in the twelve-week competition in Term 4, which includes divisions for children aged five and six all the way up to college students. Affiliated with Touch New Zealand, the league provides players the opportunity to represent the Bay of Plenty in regional competitions and even to represent their country!
