The YMCA Tauranga is accredited to deliver programmes under the National Council of YMCA’s registration as a Private Training Establishment by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) under the provisions of the Education Act 1989.
The Education Centre runs FREE Foundation-Focused Training Opportunities (FFTO) programmes for people registered with WINZ as job seekers. These programmes will give you transferable skills to take into industry or to continue on with your learning. The vocational courses available include Business Administration, Computing and Early Childcare Education.
The free Fundamentals Course is designed to improve job prospects, or gain entry into higher levels of training. Ideal for anyone who wants to ready themselves for future employment and learn at own their pace. It is a short course with a focus in numeracy and literacy.
Anyone who is not already enrolled in a Government Funded programme (including Schools) may participate in this programme.
