Part time Junior Recreation Assistant YMCA Tauranga

 Part Time Role – 25 hrs per week, weekdays 12.30pm - 5.30pm

We are seeking an outstanding, well-organised and energetic person who thrives on multitasking to fill the role of Junior Recreation Administrator.  This is an opportunity for you to play a significant role in the YMCA and to let your outstanding customer service skills shine.

You will be responsible for working closely with our lead Recreation Administrator to provide seamless administrative support to our OSCAR programmes, as well as being the first point of contact for our Tomorrow’s Meals, Education, Recreation and Settlement Support New Zealand programmes.

To perform this role effectively, the successful applicant will need to be highly organised, have the ability to prioritise and juggle several tasks at once, an enthusiastic outlook and loads of initiative. You’ll also ideally have:

•    Experience in an administrative position, preferably in the field of OSCAR, childcare management or recreation and sport
•    Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to respond to all public, in-person and written enquiries effectively, accurately and courteously
•    An unfailing ability to multitask as well as resume previously interrupted tasks
•    Computer literate with competency in Microsoft Word and Excel
•    Sound attention to detail with financial experience a plus
•    Strong and accurate record-keeping ability
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    A friendly and approachable yet firm manner when necessary
•    A strong work ethic
•    Previous experience working with WINZ documentation a big plus but not a requirement

Salary range: $15,000 to $18,000

Tutor

The YMCA Tauranga is looking for an experienced, spirited and highly motivated class room teacher to assist our adult students to gain unit standards, increase literacy and numeracy ability, enter or re-enter the work force or move on to higher levels of training.

This is a 0.6 position (3 days week  from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm)  based at our office at 428 Devonport Road.
(hours have increased, earlier advertised as 0.4 position, 2 days a week).

Salary Range $34 – 42k (pro rata) depending on ability and experience.
