After School Care

YMCA Kids programmes are recreation based, and the aim is to meet the needs of children in their out of school hours in a fun, safe and learning environment.

We provide care for

Selwyn Ridge School in Tauranga and Lynmore School in Rotorua.

If you are a new customer who wishes to apply for WINZ. Please register your details online and then call our office on 07 579 6530 or visit us at 123 Victory Street, Welcome Bay, Tauranga to collect and complete your WINZ application form and pay a deposit for your booking. You will need to know what days you would like to book your child, and the number of hours you work or study to complete the WINZ application form.

Lynmore School parents should visit the school during Care hours and speak with a staff member there for any WINZ paperwork

Full Application Form – use this form if you are new to the YMCA or have not filled in an application within the last 13 weeks.

Declaration Form – use this form if you have already filled in an application form within the last 13 weeks.

Each programme offers a variety of activities that includes arts and crafts, sports and games and incorporates homework activities. We provide a safe environment for your child to relax in after their day at school while ensuring there are stimulating options for those still with energy.

Every child is unique; our programmes allow for the diversity in age, sex, and background of each child while encompassing the individual needs and interests. Should you have any concerns about your child, or if your child has special requirements whether dietary or other, please take the time to discuss this with us. It is important that you notify us of any information we may need to know for your child to have the best experience possible.

We provide After School Care (ASC) for kids aged 5-13 years. Our programmes help them develop physically, socially, creatively, emotionally, academically and culturally while simply playing and having fun in a safe environment. We offer a safe and supervised environment from 2:30 p.m. to 6p.m. with a staff to child ratio of 1:10 and a minimum of two staff at all times.

Collection Points

Below is a list of collection points and phone numbers in the Tauranga/Rotorua area. We would appreciate it if you can please speak with your child(ren) about where they need to meet each afternoon. It is important that children meet and wait at these pick up points. Ensuring they know where to meet helps to keep waiting times down so they can enjoy more of their afternoon.
